The game

Light from behind builds the ground under your feet

You are a shadow that has come loose. Each night a keeper climbs a colossal structure, lighting its lamps, and tonight you were left behind in the dark.

Drag a light and the shadow it throws through the haze becomes a surface you can stand on. Lower the lamp and the shadow rises like a lift. Hang a slab closer to the light and its shadow grows, and moves faster. Light from behind builds the ground under your feet. Light from the front erases you.

Follow the keeper from the foundations at midnight, up through the machinery of the small hours, out over a sleeping city before dawn, across the ice at first light, to the summit at noon, when every shadow in the world, including you, shrinks to almost nothing.
